Realme has a tradition to release a master version of its flagship product. These are more advanced versions of the appearance of its phones, where the brand can display different materials and overall better designs. Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa once again undertook the design task of these two new mobile phones that combine Realme GT Master Edition and GT Master Exploration Edition.
The design of these two new devices is inspired by a suitcase with a ridge pattern and is equipped with soft-touch leather. There is also a more traditional version with a frosted glass back cover.
GT Master Exploration Edition is equipped with a curved 6.55-inch Super AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The ordinary Master Edition dials back the 6.43-inch flat panel, which again uses the Super AMOLED variety and has a refresh rate of 120Hz. Both phones are also equipped with a 32MP selfie camera and an under-display fingerprint scanner.
On the back, the camera settings of the Discovery Edition are slightly different, with a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor and OIS. It consists of a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro camera.
The vanilla model chose a 64MP main shooter alongside the 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro cameras. The chipset department also has some differences with the Discovery version that relies on the Snapdragon 870, while the standard model uses the Snapdragon 778G. RAM varies between 8 and 12GB, while storage is 128GB or 256GB.
In terms of battery, we have a 4,500 mAh battery on the Discovery version, while the vanilla model insists on using a slightly smaller 4,300 mAh capacity. Both are charged at 65W via the provided SuperDart charger.
The Realme GT Master Edition is available in gray, white and gradient colors. The 8/128GB model starts at RMB 2,399 (US$370), while the 8/256GB model starts at RMB 2,599 (US$400).
The Realme GT Master Exploration Edition is available in gray and apricot colors. The 8/128GB version starts at RMB 2,799 (US$432), and the 12/256GB version starts at RMB 3,099 (US$478). The first sale in China is scheduled for July 30.
