Google released The first Android 12 public beta Last month, the second version is now being sent to participating Pixel users. This update brings some privacy features announced for the final version during the I/O demo.
I have installed the latest version Google Pixel 5 And can tell you that the UI looks better visually. There is more contrast throughout the interface. The first version of the huge volume slider has been updated, and it looks even less ridiculous. We expect Google will continue to adjust the interface throughout the Android 12 beta.
The following are the privacy changes included in this month’s Android 12 Beta release.
The privacy dashboard is an overview screen contained in Settings> Privacy. It will show you which information has been accessed and which applications have accessed it last. For example, it will show you a timeline every time the app asks for a location. This is where the application can explain why certain permissions are needed.
Dedicated microphone switching allows you to disable software access to the microphone or camera. You can also use Quick Switch to do this. In addition, when the application is actively capturing audio or video, you will see an indicator in the status bar.
Now, whenever the app copies or pastes information (to/from) your clipboard, a notification will pop up. Some apps pre-paste the information you copied in anticipation of entering the information into the search, but once this feature goes live, it will expose those apps that unnecessarily extract clipboard data. For example, Google Chrome will retrieve the item you copied last time as soon as you open the Google search box, hoping that you are looking for information.
The new Internet panel replaces the traditional Wi-Fi controls. Click “Internet” to switch quickly (the name of the currently connected Wi-Fi network is no longer displayed) will display a list of available and nearby Wi-Fi connections, including the switch of mobile data connections. Long press will open a new “Internet” settings screen, which combines the mobile network page with Wi-Fi.
In addition, if you are experiencing slow Wi-Fi speeds and prefer to use data, tapping data connection will disconnect the device from Wi-Fi and temporarily disable automatic connection.
Android 12 Beta 2 is now available to Google Pixel 3, 3 XL, 3a, 3a XL, 4, 4 yards, 4a, 4a 5G, And 5. Other OEMs participating in Android 12 Beta include OnePlus, Asus, iQoo, Oppo, Realme, TCL, Tecno, Xiaomi, and ZTE.
